The Travel Agency Commissioner (TAC) Office is an independent arbitration and mediation mechanism integrated within IATA’s Passenger Agency Programme, under the scope underlined in Resolutions (pdf) and (pdf). It is responsible for the worldwide management of cases arising from stakeholders (Airlines, Agents and IATA) leveraging on the Rules outlined in the Passenger Agency Conference Resolutions Manual and is a cost-effective instrument that has well served the industry and avoided the air travel retailing and distribution network from important legal costs over decades.
IATA, the World Travel Agency Associations Alliance (WTAAA) and the Universal Federation of Travel Agency Associations (UFTAA), are seeking to identify potential candidates for the next term of the Office, effective early 2021. Individuals or entities specializing in business mediation and dispute resolution are welcome to express their interest up until 31 March 2020.
Applicants will be reviewed by a committee composed of IATA, WTAAA and UFTAA on the basis of the criteria established in Resolution (pdf).
